Nvidia Vera CPU Beats AMD, Intel in First Public Benchmarks, With 10% Lead Over EPYC
First public benchmarks of Nvidia's new Vera CPU showed the chip ahead of the AMD EPYC 9575F 5.0GHz high-frequency processor and Intel's flagship Granite Rapids Xeon 6980P. On a geometric-mean basis, Vera delivered 10% better performance than the AMD chip, 1.55 times the performance of the Intel processor, and 1.63 times the performance of Nvidia's Grace on a generation-on-generation comparison.
The data provide the first public look at Vera's performance and point to a substantial jump over Grace. But the testing was also described as Nvidia-sanctioned, meaning the results still await independent verification.
