Goldman Sachs Raises S&P 500 Year-End Target to 8,000 on Strong Earnings Outlook
Goldman Sachs raised its year-end target for the S&P 500 to 8,000 from 7,600, citing a strong earnings outlook. The new forecast implies roughly 17% upside for the benchmark this year.
The bank now expects S&P 500 earnings per share of $340 in 2026, up 24% from a year earlier, with AI infrastructure beneficiaries accounting for roughly half of that growth. The revision brings Goldman into line with Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank, which also see about a 17% return for the index this year.
