Aztec Labs Acquires ZKPassport Digital Identity Protocol, Plans to Keep It Open Source

Aztec Labs has acquired ZKPassport, a privacy-preserving digital identity protocol, according to statements from the companies. The Block reported that Aztec plans to keep ZKPassport’s privacy protocol and iOS mobile app open source.

Aztec said ZKPassport’s mission remains to let users prove what is required without revealing anything else. It described the product as spanning “130+ countries” with “zero data uploaded” and “zero data stored,” and said the same product remains available today under Aztec.
