Pirro Warns D.C. Parents of $500 Curfew Fines, Jail Over Teen Takeovers
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro said parents of teens involved in recent teen takeover violence in Washington, D.C., could also face penalties, including a $500 fine for each curfew violation, court-ordered classes and possible jail time.
At a news conference, Pirro said parents could be prosecuted when teens repeatedly violate curfew or school attendance rules, possess alcohol or drugs, violate court orders or commit crimes such as the recent brawl at a Chipotle in the Navy Yard. Video from the restaurant showed teens fighting and throwing chairs, and Pirro said parents of youths who carry out violence could spend up to six months in jail.
