DeepSeek is set to close its first funding round soon, targeting around 50 billion yuan, with Chinese EV battery leader CATL intending to invest, according to The Information.
Bloomberg reported that DeepSeek executives told potential investors the company would prioritize AI research over short-term commercialization. Liang Wenfeng has also told investors the firm has no interest in short-term commercialization and will keep DeepSeek open-source.
