US Treasury Removes UN Rapporteur Francesca Albanese From Sanctions List After Court Block
The US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control removed Francesca Albanese from its sanctions list on Wednesday, according to an updated sanctions notice and the Treasury website. Albanese is the UN special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories and had been listed on the Specially Designated Nationals list under an International Criminal Court-related designation.
The move came about a week after a federal judge temporarily blocked the measures over likely free-speech violations.
