San Diego Mosque Shooting Kills 3; Police Probe Potential Hate Crime
Two teenage gunmen opened fire at the Islamic Center of San Diego on Monday, killing a security guard and two other men outside the mosque before the suspects were found dead in a nearby vehicle from apparent self-inflicted gunshot wounds, police said.
Authorities are investigating the attack as a potential hate crime. The suspects were ages 17 and 19, and the shooting erupted while children were at school on the mosque grounds, forcing dozens to huddle in classrooms.
