Former OpenAI Staffers Warn xAI Could Add Regulatory and Litigation Risks to SpaceX IPO
Former OpenAI staffers and a group of nonprofits published a letter Tuesday warning that xAI could become a liability for SpaceX's planned initial public offering because of what they called "unpriced risks" around safety. The groups argued xAI's safety record could expose it to regulatory and litigation risks, potentially complicating the listing.
The letter adds a new issue to an offering that Elon Musk recently indicated is nearing, saying SpaceX had to get its IPO going "pretty soon." It shifts attention from the timing of the deal to whether xAI could create additional scrutiny for the transaction.
