Anthropic Acquires Stainless, Platform Behind Claude SDKs and MCP Tooling
Anthropic is acquiring Stainless, a New York-based platform that generates SDKs from APIs and has powered every Anthropic SDK since the earliest days of its API. The acquisition is centered on developer tooling, including SDKs, CLIs and MCP servers that can help Claude agents connect with external software systems.
Stainless can turn an API specification into SDKs for languages including TypeScript, Python, Go, Java and Kotlin. TechCrunch reported that Anthropic plans to wind down Stainless's hosted products and that the companies had discussed a deal valued at more than $300 million.
