Baidu Beats Q1 Estimates With 32.08 Billion Yuan Revenue Despite 55% Net Profit Drop
Baidu reported first-quarter revenue of 32.08 billion yuan, above the 31.49 billion yuan estimate. Adjusted profit per ADS was 12.06 yuan versus 11.84 yuan expected, while adjusted operating profit came in at 3.81 billion yuan against a 3.34 billion yuan estimate and adjusted EBITDA was 5.95 billion yuan versus 5.23 billion yuan expected.
Revenue was down 1.1% from a year earlier to about $4.7 billion, while net profit fell 55% to about $506.6 million, though both were above expectations. Revenue from Baidu's core AI-powered business was 13.6 billion yuan, and the company is leaning further into AI, cloud, Apollo Go robotaxis and its Kunlunxin chip unit as its core search and advertising business remains under pressure; AI cloud infrastructure revenue rose 79% year over year and GPU cloud revenue increased 184%.
