Samsung Electronics clinched an 11th-hour agreement with its South Korean union that averted a strike at the chipmaker, sending the shares higher. The company could distribute about $26.6 billion in bonuses to its semiconductor workforce of roughly 78,000 people, with some workers set to receive around $416,000 under the deal.
