Trump Says US Should Have Taken More Than 10% Intel Stake, Protected Chipmaker With Tariffs
Donald Trump told Fortune that the U.S. government should have sought more than its 10% stake in Intel, saying the investment has surged in value since last year’s deal. He also argued that past U.S. trade policy allowed rivals such as TSMC to dominate chip manufacturing and said tariffs would have protected Intel, which he said should be “the biggest company in the world right now.”
