China's Chip Exports Jump 100% to Record $31 Billion in April
China's chip exports rose 100% from a year earlier in April to a record $31 billion, extending a surge that has tripled over the past two years. Overseas sales of laptops, tablets and related components also increased 47% in April.
Semiconductors, computers and other AI-related products accounted for about half of China's export growth last month, according to estimates by Goldman Sachs and Nomura. Overall Chinese exports climbed 14% from a year earlier to $359 billion, the highest monthly reading on record.
