Strategy Resumes Bitcoin Buying, Adds 535 BTC to Reach 818,869 Holdings
Strategy resumed its bitcoin buying, acquiring 535 BTC for about $43 million at an average price of roughly $80,340 apiece and lifting its total holdings to 818,869 BTC as of May 10. The purchase follows Michael Saylor's recent "Back to work" message and ends a brief pause that had revived expectations of another acquisition.
Strategy said the holdings were acquired for about $61.86 billion at an average cost of roughly $75,540 per bitcoin. The latest buy follows recent questions about whether the company might sell some of its stash; executives had said any sales would be limited to specific cases, including funding the STRC preferred dividend or tax optimization, and would be judged by whether they increased bitcoin per share.
