Cisco Beats Estimates, Raises AI Orders Target, Plans Fewer Than 4,000 Job Cuts
Cisco Systems reported fiscal third-quarter revenue of $15.8 billion, up 12% from a year earlier, and adjusted earnings of $1.06 a share, beating estimates of about $15.6 billion and $1.04. Product orders rose 35%, with networking product orders up more than 50%. The company projected fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of $16.7 billion to $16.9 billion and adjusted earnings of $1.16 to $1.18 a share, and raised its fiscal 2026 outlook to revenue of $62.8 billion to $63.0 billion and adjusted EPS of $4.27 to $4.29.
Cisco also lifted its fiscal 2026 AI infrastructure orders target to $9 billion from $5 billion and raised expected AI infrastructure revenue to $4 billion from $3 billion. It said a restructuring plan aimed at investing in silicon, optics, security and AI will result in up to $1 billion of pretax charges and job cuts affecting fewer than 4,000 employees, or about 5% of its workforce. Shares rose about 11%.
