US Treasury Sanctions 12 Over IRGC Oil Sales, Flags Crypto Evasion

The US Treasury said its Office of Foreign Assets Control designated 12 individuals and entities for helping the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps sell and ship Iranian oil to China. Treasury said the IRGC uses front companies in permissive economic jurisdictions to obscure its role in oil sales and funnel revenue to the Iranian regime.
Separately, the US alerted financial institutions that the IRGC uses front companies and cryptocurrency to evade sanctions.
