Circle Raises $222 Million for Arc as First-Quarter Revenue Misses Estimates
Circle reported first-quarter revenue of about $694 million, up 20% from a year earlier, and earnings per share of $0.21, while also announcing a $222 million presale for its Arc token at a $3 billion fully diluted valuation. Revenue missed estimates of roughly $715 million, though EPS topped consensus of about $0.18 to $0.19. The Arc fundraising was led by a16z crypto, with BlackRock, Apollo, ICE, SBI Group and others participating.
USDC circulation rose 28% to $77 billion and on-chain transaction volume jumped 263% to $21.5 trillion. Circle said Arc is being prepared as institutional blockchain infrastructure to support AI-native economic activity, alongside new products including its Circle Agent Stack.
