OpenAI Launches Deployment Company With Over $4 Billion, Agrees to Acquire Tomoro
OpenAI launched the OpenAI Deployment Company, a new business aimed at helping companies build and deploy AI, with more than $4 billion in initial funding. The venture is majority-owned and controlled by OpenAI and brings together 19 investment firms, consultancies and system integrators as founding partners.
OpenAI also agreed to acquire Tomoro, adding 150 experienced forward deployed engineers and deployment specialists to the new company from day one. Founding partners include B Capital, BBVA, Emergence Capital, Goanna, Goldman Sachs, SoftBank, Thrive, Warburg Pincus and WCAS.
