WTI Settles Above $102, Brent Near $108 as Oil Rally Extends
Oil extended gains into Monday’s settlement, with West Texas Intermediate closing at $102.18 a barrel after earlier breaking above $100, while Brent finished at $107.77. The higher close marked a further advance in the latest rally in crude prices.
The move builds on gains after President Donald Trump said over the weekend that Iran’s response to a U.S. proposal to end the 10-week conflict was totally unacceptable, dimming hopes for a quick deal. Traders have been watching whether diplomacy could ease risks to supply flows through the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global crude shipments.
