Eneos has agreed to buy Chevron’s stake in a Singapore refinery and other refining and retail assets across Asia Pacific for about $2.2 billion, expanding the Japanese refiner’s presence in the region.

The deal also aligns with Eneos’s stated goal of securing more stable crude supplies from the U.S. and other sources, as well as from the Middle East via routes outside the Strait of Hormuz.
