China will raise retail gasoline and diesel prices starting May 9, according to the National Development and Reform Commission. From midnight on May 8, gasoline prices will increase by 320 yuan a ton and diesel prices by 310 yuan a ton.

National average prices for 92-octane gasoline, 95-octane gasoline and zero-grade diesel will each rise by about 0.25 yuan to 0.27 yuan a liter. Filling a 50-liter tank with 92-octane gasoline will cost about 12.5 yuan more.
