Strategy Says STRC Preferred Is Backed by Bitcoin and Dollar Assets
Strategy said its STRC preferred equity is backed by bitcoin and US dollar assets and supported by active treasury operations, adding new detail on how the company has structured the instrument. The company described STRC as engineered for income, stability, liquidity and principal protection, and said it chose a preferred-equity format rather than debt to make it more scalable, durable, global and useful.
The disclosure adds to Strategy's recent explanation of how it is managing its capital structure alongside its bitcoin treasury strategy. Earlier this week, Chief Executive Officer Phong Le said the company may sell bitcoin rather than issue equity when doing so would be more accretive to shareholders on a bitcoin-per-share basis.
