Strategy Says It May Sell Bitcoin Over Equity to Lift Bitcoin Per Share
Strategy Chief Executive Officer Phong Le said the company may sell bitcoin rather than issue equity when that would be more accretive to shareholders on a bitcoin-per-share basis. Le said Strategy would sell bitcoin to pay yield when doing so is accretive to shareholders, defining that measure as improving bitcoin per share.
The comments add a new detail to Strategy's bitcoin treasury playbook as the company continues to accumulate the token aggressively. JPMorgan analysts said this week that Strategy's bitcoin purchases could reach about $30 billion this year at the current pace after buying 145,834 BTC worth about $11 billion so far in 2026; the company held 818,334 BTC valued at more than $65 billion at current market prices, according to the earlier report.
