Trump Administration Studies Oil Under Military Bases for US Strategic Petroleum Reserve
The Trump administration is studying whether oil beneath land at US military bases and other sites could help refill the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, the nation’s emergency stockpile.
The SPR’s crude inventory fell about 5.2 million barrels last week to 392.7 million barrels, a slower decline than the previous week’s 7.1 million-barrel drop. The drawdown pace moved back below 1 million barrels a day, and total crude draw including the SPR release was estimated at 10.7 million barrels.
