Satellite Images Show Suspected Oil Spill Near Iran's Kharg Island Export Hub
Satellite imagery reviewed by Reuters and images from Copernicus Sentinel-1, -2 and -3 indicated a suspected oil spill west of Iran's Kharg Island, Iran's main crude export hub. Researchers cited by Reuters said the slick covered roughly 45 square kilometers.
Kharg Island handles nearly 90% of Iran's oil exports, much of it bound for China. The cause of the spill was not clear.
