Apple Explores Intel and Samsung for Chips Beyond TSMC

techbusiness 10 posts · 9 accounts

Apple has held exploratory discussions with Intel and Samsung about producing the main processors for its devices, including its flagship A- and M-series chips, giving the company a secondary manufacturing option beyond longtime partner TSMC.

The talks are still at an early stage and no shift appears imminent. Any eventual arrangement would reduce Apple’s reliance on TSMC, which has been the exclusive foundry for those chips.
