STMicro Targets $3 Billion From Space Chips Through 2028

STMicroelectronics is targeting more than $3 billion in cumulative revenue from space chips between 2026 and 2028, underscoring rising demand in low-Earth-orbit satellite networks. The company’s LEO revenue is projected to increase from $175 million in 2021 to about $600 million in 2025 and toward $1 billion in 2026, with billions of radiation-hardened components such as power-management chips, RF front-ends, microcontrollers and diodes going into systems including Starlink’s phased-array antennas.

Starlink has surpassed 10 million active customers worldwide, added more than 4.6 million users in 2025 and is targeting 25 million by the end of 2026. The company is producing roughly 170,000 terminals a week, or about 8.5 million to 9 million a year, and its current standard kit sells for around $349; the latest terminal includes several STMicroelectronics parts, including a main chip, secure element, GPS hardware and power-management components.
