Anthropic 80x Growth Claim Fuels $1 Trillion Revenue Projections by 2030
Comments attributed to Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei saying the company’s revenue and usage expanded at an annualized 80-fold pace in Q1 2026, far above an internal upside case of 10x, have fueled increasingly aggressive forecasts for the company’s future sales. Those same remarks were also used to argue that the main bottlenecks to further growth are compute, chips, power and data centers rather than model performance.
One projection said Anthropic could reach $1.2 trillion in revenue by mid-2028 even if monthly growth slows to 15%, while another said AI labs could hit $1 trillion in annual recurring revenue by 2030 and argued that, from a stated $45 billion ARR base, Anthropic would need 2.17 times annual growth for four years to get there. More skeptical views cautioned that early exponential growth rates do not usually last.

@sukh_saroyAnthropic CEO Dario Amodei just said revenue and usage grew 80x this year. Their internal upside case was 10x. They blew past it by 8 times. The biggest bottleneck in AI right now isn't models. It's compute, chips, power, and data center
