AMD Hits Record High as AI-Fueled Rally Spreads Across Chip Stocks
Advanced Micro Devices shares climbed to a record high on Wednesday, adding billions in value and helping fuel a broader semiconductor rally as investors extended their response to the chipmaker's AI-driven outlook.
The move builds on AMD's stronger-than-expected first-quarter results and forecast. The company reported adjusted earnings of $1.37 a share on revenue of $10.25 billion, topping expectations, and projected second-quarter revenue of $10.9 billion to $11.5 billion, above estimates. Data-center revenue rose 57% to $5.8 billion, and AMD said the segment has become the primary driver of revenue and earnings growth as demand for AI infrastructure increases.
