Apple’s Tim Cook to Step Down as CEO, John Ternus to Succeed Him
Tim Cook will step down as Apple chief executive and hand the role to hardware leader John Ternus, while moving into the executive chairman position. In an all-hands meeting, Cook told employees he is healthy, his energy is high and he expects to remain in that new role for a long time.
Cook said he is making the change now because Apple’s finances are strong, the company has an strong product roadmap ahead and Ternus is ready to lead. Ternus told employees Apple is approaching another major product cycle, with AI at the center of new opportunities across its products and services.
