Union Jack Oil Explores Bitcoin-Mining Pilot at Yorkshire Gas Field

A UK gas project in Yorkshire is exploring a Bitcoin-mining pilot as a way to help fund further development. Union Jack Oil said Rathlin, acting for the West Newton joint venture, signed a non-binding letter of intent with Texas-based 360 Energy to design a Bitcoin-mining solution for West Newton.
The plan would use gas from the WNA-2 well at West Newton A to power on-site data centres that generate Bitcoin, subject to regulatory and third-party approvals.
