U.S. Treasury Sanctions 14 Iran-Linked Targets; EU Widens Iran Measures
The U.S. Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control said Tuesday it was sanctioning 14 individuals, entities and aircraft based in Iran, Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates for involvement in procuring or transporting weapons or weapons components on behalf of the Iranian regime. Treasury said the action targets networks tied to Iran's ballistic missile and unmanned aerial vehicle programs, including links to Mahan Air.
In a separate move, Reuters reported that EU countries agreed to widen sanctions against Iran to include those responsible for blocking the Strait of Hormuz, citing EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas.
