Powerchip Says Memory Price Gains Will Lift Revenue With a Delay

businesscompany-earnings 2 posts · 1 accounts

Powerchip said DRAM price increases should begin affecting revenue in June and NAND price gains in the second quarter, lagging broader market price moves because of production cycles. In logic chips, the company said demand is outpacing supply for both 8-inch and 12-inch wafers and will remain tight for several quarters, with 8-inch prices up 10% since March and some high-volume display and image-sensor products also up 10%.

The company also said it has started development work with Micron on the 1p memory production process. New production-line equipment is expected in the first quarter of 2027, with mass production targeted for the second half of 2028; Powerchip said the 1p process would allow it to produce 2.5 times more chips per wafer than its current process, though the fab sale to Micron reduces legacy chip capacity.
