Trump Presses Fed Chair Nominee Kevin Warsh for Quick Rate Cuts
President Donald Trump told CNBC he would be disappointed if Federal Reserve chair nominee Kevin Warsh does not cut interest rates right away, and said the United States should have the lowest interest rates in the world.
The comments came as Warsh's Senate confirmation hearing began. As hearings opened, Sen. Thom Tillis remained opposed to voting Warsh out of committee unless the Powell investigation is dropped, according to a report that also said a White House push for a procedural route around the committee appeared unlikely.
